Lou Banach (born February 6, 1960)[1] is a former wrestler for the University of Iowa wrestling team. He won NCAA championships in 1981 and 1983. His overall collegiate record was 92-14-3. In 1984, Banach won a gold medal in the 220 pound weight class at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.[2] He was born in Port Jervis, New York on February 6, 1960. Banach's twin brother, Ed Banach, was also a gold medalist in wrestling at the same Olympiad.
